Time for a checkup!

Here’s a TIP while we are practicing #socialdistancing as a Christian: If you have not already, LEAN INTO TECHNOLOGY! Most churches are live-streaming their services but take it a step further & join (or start) a virtual bible study. We have tons of free options like Bible Study Fellowship, Youtube, or podcasts that have tons of material to study out or just having bible discussion through WhatsApp, GroupMe, etc. with a group of friends. The possibilities are endless!!! So like everyone else over the last couple of weeks, we have been trying to find what our new normal is going to be during these unprecedented times. Lots of adjustments with work, our kids and even how we will be doing church for a while. To say anxieties have been running high at times is an understatement. In my personal Bible study, I have been really clinging to scriptures that speak of God’s promises, of God’s provision, and just flat out HOPE. This morning, I was reading in Psalms and read this scripture here and decided to do an exercise that I would like to share with you all: 1. Off the top of your head, think of and write down times throughout your life when you can pinpoint when God stood by you through a tough time. 2. Compare these times & note any similarities, any differences. We’re they in different areas of your life? At a certain time in your life? Spiritually, would you have considered yourself “close” to God in each occurrence? Here’s my observation from my list: 1)Even when I was the farthest from God, he still protected me & never abandoned me, & 2) Once I truly committed to Christ, bad times didn’t magically go away. Like I said earlier, we are in unprecedented times but let us all remember that God is the same yesterday, today, & tomorrow.
